Fall 2021 Opening Reception
Please join us on Thursday, September 9th at 5:30pm for our first event of the semester. The opening reception is our back-to-school social hour, the perfect chance for new students to learn about the Institute and for returning students to reconnect. Senior Fellows Katie Peterson, Karl van Bibber and Fr. Anselm Ramelow, will be around to meet students and answer questions about the Institute. New Executive Director Dena Fehrenbacher will share new updates and announce upcoming programs.
All attendees will receive a copy of our Fall 2021 “Community Read”— Lost in Thought: The Hidden Pleasures of the Intellectual Life by Zena Hitz. We invite the Berkeley community to read this book with us and attend any of our numerous events themed with this book.
This event will adhere to current regional guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, we won't have dinner at this event. But we will be ready to host students with supplies for the semester ahead.
