MORAL DE-SKILLING AND AI

How to Stay Human When AI Comes for You

a talk by Professor Brian Green

Artificial Intelligence offers to make our lives easier by helping to bear life's cognitive load. But while this seems to make sense in some cases, it clearly does not make sense in others. As free and thinking beings, how do we know when we should use AI or not? Why is it okay to outsource some cognitive tasks but not others? And how can we preserve our own agency and freedom, and that of everyone around us, from overly-helpful-AI? Humanity and AI both have a place in the future — this talk will  present some principles for thinking of who should do what, and why.

This event is open to the general public.
